SVP ASSOCIATION ACCOUNTING
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Senior Vice President of Association Accounting is responsible for managing the financial risks for the EAM accounting team and its clients. Providing accounting services for several of our association clients as well as being our primary accounting representative to existing and prospective associations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Team Leadership and Management
  • Lead mentor and manage a geographically distributed team of seven association accountants ensuring high performance professional growth and accountability.
  • Oversee the association accounting teams achievement of contractual commitments and timelines for each client.
  • Train and educate client leads and internal team members to increase financial literacy and understanding of financial statements and reporting processes.
  • Instill confidence in clients and internal team members through demonstrated expertise and reliable guidance.
Financial Management and Reporting
  • Oversee all aspects of association financial management for multiple non-profit and association clients including budgeting reporting forecasting and general ledger maintenance following GAAP standards.
  • Ensure timely accurate and insightful preparation and delivery of financial reports and analysis to association leadership teams and business leaders.
  • Conduct thorough variance analysis and robust tracking of financials to ensure variances are understood and addressed with actionable solutions.
  • Lead the month-end close process and maintain client and internal forecast models as required.
  • Monitor client cash flows prepare cash flow forecasts and proactively identify and mitigate client financial risks.
  • Develop and support strategic financial goals (operating budgets forecasts profitability analyses) for clients and at the Etherio corporate level including direct involvement in the divisions budgeting forecasting and project profitability analysis.
Client and Stakeholder Relations
  • Serve as the primary financial advisor and strategic partner to association executive directors and board members providing consultative advice and support on financial matters.
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders including banks investment firms auditors and outside tax preparers.
  • Support business development efforts by participating in the selling of accounting services and joining client presentations/interviews as needed.
  • Work closely with leadership to address financial issues and support the achievement of organizational goals for EAM and its clients.
Operational Excellence and Process Improvement
  • Ensure strict compliance with association accounting policies and procedures and oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial files for all clients.
  • Monitor and maintain strong internal controls and recommend improvements where needed.
  • Lead efforts to standardize and improve processes systems and reporting mechanisms.
  • Research recommend and help implement artificial intelligence (AI) and technology solutions to optimize accounting operations and improve efficiency.
Audit Compliance & Regulatory Support
  • Prepare for and oversee client financial statement audits/reviews liaising with external auditors to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Support the preparation and transmission of client payroll 1099s electronic filings and 990s ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Monitor client risks and ensure that risks are minimized through proactive strategies.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in accounting and/or finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Seven to ten years of responsible financial and accounting management experience.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and software.
  • Knowledge of GAAP for both for-profit companies and/non-profit clients including 990 processing.
  • Experience in financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and resourceful under pressure
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently.

WORKPLACE LOCATION REQUIREMENTS
Atlanta GA or Boca Raton FL. We operate as a Hybrid work environment working as a combination of remote and in-office presence as well as the possibility of being onsite at client locations.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel up to two times per year.
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS
Requires flexibility in scheduling to meet client or company needs.

  • Need to adapt and function in various physical settings (for example conference centers indoor and outdoor spaces).
  • Occasionally required to position self in a stooping kneeling or crouching manner.
  • Frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Frequently uses computers and other electronic equipment.
