About the Role
Were seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Financial Control to lead the centralised financial accounting function across ENGIEs Australian businesses. This pivotal role supports our consolidated operations and drives self-service capabilities through the development and enhancement of finance systems. Youll also play a key leadership role in the transition to SAP S/4HANA as part of ENGIEs global deployment strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process ensuring timely and accurate ledger handover to management reporting.
- Oversee the preparation and lodgement of statutory accounts and financial reporting for ENGIE.
- Manage statutory audits for both ENGIE Group and local compliance requirements.
- Ensure completion of balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews across all entities in scope.
- Collaborate with FP&A to support monthly management reporting and deliverables.
- Provide technical accounting guidance including drafting and reviewing position papers.
- Lead transaction processing (Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable settlements) to optimise working capital and cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Drive the development governance and enhancement of finance systems to support automation and self-service capabilities.
- Act as a subject matter expert for financial accounting during the SAP S/4HANA transition.
People Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing team aligned with ENGIEs values.
- Oversee recruitment coaching performance management and career development.
- Foster a culture of accountability engagement and continuous improvement.
About You
- CA or CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting Finance or a related discipline.
- Extensive leadership experience ideally in the energy sectorin senior finance roles across complex multinational energy sector environments.
- Strong technical expertise in IFRS internal controls and ERP systems (including SAP) with hands-on experience in system implementation.
- Proven ability to engage influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive and strategic mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
