About the Role

Following strategic planned growth in our Early Learning Services and service delivery we are pleased to seek an experienced Director of Early Learning to lead our Early Learning Centre. This is a new role to the College in line with the 2023 and Beyond Strategic Plan. This role provides strategic pedagogical operational and compliance leadership across our Long Day Care Kindergarten and Outside School Hours Care programs.

As the Director of Early Learning you will oversee all aspects of quality assurance regulatory compliance program delivery staffing and family and community engagement. You will lead the Early Learning Centre Leadership Team and work closely with the Principal Deputy Principal College Executive and key operational areas to ensure that our early years services deliver sector leading outcomes for children and families.

You will play a vital role in fostering a safe inclusive and innovative learning environment that reflects our philosophy of Love Laughter and Learning.

About You

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or ACECQA recognised qualification.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in Early Childhood education and care.
  • Deep understanding of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) Reggio Emilia principles and the schools inquiry-based approach.
  • Confident in managing compliance regulatory requirements and quality assurance processes.
  • Skilled in leading teams staff development rostering and building positive workplace culture.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with staff families and community partners.
  • Highly organised adaptable and able to manage competing operational priorities.
  • Committed to reflective practice continuous improvement and high-quality early learning.
  • Hold a current Blue Card or QCT Registration First Aid CPR Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications and Child Protection training (CHCPRT Units).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic pedagogical and operational leadership across Wonderland (Long Day Care) Kindergarten and Our Place (OSHC).
  • Lead and support the ELC Leadership Team to ensure cohesive high-quality practice.
  • Oversee compliance with National Law Regulations and the National Quality Standard.
  • Drive continuous improvement including development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Manage staffing recruitment onboarding rostering professional learning and performance processes.
  • Ensure safe inclusive high quality learning environments and daily operations.
  • Build strong relationships with families and oversee communication engagement and transition processes.
  • Reporting to the Deputy Principal the Director of Early Learning will collaborate and work closely with multiple stakeholders including the Principal Deputy Principal College Executive and operational teams to support high quality service delivery.
