Long Term Substitute Technology Teacher and Library Media Specialist

Position Summary
The Long Term Substitute Technology and Library Media Specialist serves as both an instructional leader and resource guide for integrating technology and information literacy throughout the school. This position combines teaching digital citizenship and technology skills with managing the library program fostering a love of reading research and innovation that supports CHCA Armleders mission to Learn Lead and Serve from January - March.
Primary Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership
Teach technology classes for grades PK6 that emphasize digital literacy problem-solving keyboarding and responsible online behavior.
Guide students in research coding multimedia presentations and digital storytelling projects aligned with the curriculum.
Model and teach Leader in Me habits through technology and media instruction.
Library and Media Center Management
Curate and manage a balanced library collection-print digital and audio-that reflects diverse perspectives and supports academic standards.
Plan and lead engaging library lessons that promote reading for pleasure and research skills.
Coordinate library circulation cataloging and collection maintenance using library management software.
Technology Integration and Support
Stay current on educational technology tools (Office 365 Seesaw Canva etc.) and recommend new digital learning platforms.
Support digital citizenship initiatives and ensure student technology use aligns with CHCAs mission and safety policies.
Leadership and Collaboration
Lead or co-lead student media clubs broadcast teams or digital production projects (e.g. school news chapel slides or House System media).
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Education Library Science Educational Technology or related field (degree preferred).
Valid teaching license preferred; library/media certification a plus.
Experience in classroom teaching and/or library media management.
Proficiency with instructional technology digital platforms and library automation systems.
Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
