Description
Position Function Summary
Under the general direction of the Pharmacy Director the Pharmacist dispenses medications prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and provides information to patients about medications and their use.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepares and dispenses prescribed drugs and pharmaceutical preparations.
- Provides information about medications their use and possible adverse reactions or interactions.
- Provides information about over-the counter drugs according to state and federal laws and regulations.
- Provides technical information to physicians and nurses.
Requirements
Education Experience and Skills/Training
- BS in Pharmacy and at least on year paid experience as a pharmacist or graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelors of Science degree prior to 2005 meets the required educational standards; Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.
- Documentation of education experience and licensure is required and must be maintained; pharmacist must be insurable under the policies and requirements of LFH; Current licensure for the state of New Mexico is required.
- CPR certification required.
