ROLE SUMMARY:
St. Louis School is a leading international school in Milan educating over 1750 students aged 2 to 18. The Early Years Primary and Middle School programmes follow the British National Curriculum across the Colonna and Caviglia Campuses leading into the IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in the High School. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Computer Studies / STEM Teacher to join the Colonna Campus teaching students from Years 6 to 9. The successful candidate will bring creativity adaptability and strong relational skills to a diverse international learning environment. There is the possibility to also apply for the Schools EdTech Coordinator role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver high-quality engaging lessons in Computer Studies and STEM subjects aligned with the English National Curriculum.
- Foster curiosity problem-solving and critical thinking through hands-on project-based learning and cross-curricular integration.
- Create a positive inclusive and stimulating classroom that supports collaboration and academic growth.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students from varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Work closely with colleagues to develop curriculum plans share best practice and ensure consistent purposeful learning experiences.
- Contribute actively to school initiatives staff training and ongoing curriculum development.
- Participate in or lead clubs activities or competitions related to STEM coding or technology innovation.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelors Degree plus PGCE (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum two years of teaching experience ideally within an international bilingual or multilingual school setting.
- Native proficiency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience teaching Primary or Middle School students (Years 69).
- Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum particularly in Computing and STEM.
- Skilled at engaging and motivating students through interactive creative approaches to learning.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with a collaborative flexible mindset.
- Willingness to contribute to a vibrant extra-curricular programme and wider school life.
- Enthusiastic professional and committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- An EU passport or a valid visa to work in Italy would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum is preferred.
