Position Summary / Career Interest:
The primary responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Equipment Technician are to process and sanitize needed equipment for patient care areas and the Sterile Processing Department. The Equipment Technician is responsible for the timely pick-up of soiled equipment and delivery of clean equipment from these areas. Equipment is sanitized according to manufacturers recommendations for all equipment.
*Hours for this position will be 2PM-10:30PM*
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Coordinate and oversee special projects as requested by the Sterile Processing Manager
- Coordinate the cleaning of Sterile Processing equipment area
- Demonstrates ability to provide care/service safely and efficiently for patient care.
- Maintain inventory of supplies needed to accomplish duties
- Operates the washer/decontaminator
- Pick-up and drop off all Materials Management equipment and deliver to correctarea(s)
- Proactively communicates with the Distribution Manager to ensure timely cleaning and replenishment of all Materials Management equipment to include fans case carts isolation carts code carts commodes walkers wagons pumps and all other necessary equipment to accomplish the mission of Materials Management
- Serves as the Sterile Processing representative to all Hospital units
- Wears protective gear while performing duties
- Must be able to perform the professional clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
