DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares (e.g. rinses disinfects) machines and equipment prior to hemodialysis treatments removes disposables and cleans station after each treatment and cleans/disinfects dialysis machines according to procedure.
- Calibrates reprocessing machines prior to the start of every shift and collects used dialyzers in assigned area on account of the need to prevent and control spillage and contamination.
- Reprocesses used dialyzers and assesses these in terms of acceptability labels these and records its re-use number and ensures these are monitored and stored in an orderly manner.
- Conducts preventive and predictive maintenance of dialysis machines and equipment thru regular consultation with maintenance records and clinic personnel.
- Coordinates with Technical Services personnel on the repairs made on dialysis machines and equipment and assists them on all remedies made thereon.
- Prepares consumables needed for treatment and ensures availability of supplies at stock room by coordinating with concerned personnel on stock replenishment.
- Prepares progress reports on all machines and equipment detailed in the clinic in aspects pertaining to utilization rate maintenance history and pending repairs as well.
- Assists staff nurses in pre- and post- dialysis assessment of patients emergency operational procedures and conduct of CPR on patients during cardiac arrest situations. Provides appropriate documentation when and where applicable.
- Assists the Unit Head in coordinating with Purchasing Group in terms of the delivery status of machinery/equipment parts ordered and updates maintenance records accordingly.
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness in the clinics facilities as well as in ensuring that all items in the stock room are secure
- Works closely with Facilities in the maintenance and upkeep of the clinic facility equipment and tools
- Priming of machines excluding setting up of dialysis parameters for patients
- Serve as clinic Safety Officer
QUALIFICATIONS:
- With or without relevant experience
- High School Diploma Vocational Diploma/Short Course Certificate
- Amenable with shifting schedules and on-calls
