The Opportunity:

Were looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Information Technology team for 15 months.

Reporting to the Manager Software Engineering the Senior Software Engineer leads the development of software modules and ensures adherence to engineering standards and best practices. This role provides technical guidance to software engineers collaborating with product leaders and partners to define scalable solutions while contributing to the design and implementation of robust software architectures. Responsibilities include conducting code reviews integrating emerging technologies into development workflows and supporting product deliverables. The position plays a key role in planning and technical documentation supporting both delivery excellence and team growth.

Note: This role is for full stack engineers with primary experience in Java.

This can be a remote role however for those who would like to come into the office we are at 151 Yonge St Toronto ON and 1111 West Georgia St Vancouver BC.

What your day looks like:

  • Lead end-to-end development of software modules ensuring adherence to coding standards architectural principles and best practices
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers fostering technical growth and promoting a culture of continuous learning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product leaders designers and internal partners to define and deliver scalable technical solutions aligned with business goals
  • Design and implement robust scalable and maintainable software architectures leveraging modern frameworks and cloud-native technologies
  • Conduct thorough code reviews enforce quality standards and drive continuous improvement in development processes
  • Drive strategic planning initiatives contributing to long-term technical roadmaps and architectural decisions
  • Author and maintain technical documentation including system designs API specifications and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and onboarding
  • Optimize system performance troubleshoot complex issues and implement solutions that improve reliability scalability and user experience
  • Champion DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines containerization (e.g. Docker Kubernetes) and cloud deployment strategies with Azure
  • Stay current with emerging technologies evaluating and integrating relevant tools and frameworks to enhance system performance and developer productivity


Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field
  • 5 - 10 years of professional experience in software development
  • Extensive Experience with Java is required
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C# or Python and a foundational understanding of software engineering principles would be an asset
  • Experience with front-end frameworks and technologies such as React Angular Flutter or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) would be an asset
  • Strong grasp of software architecture and design patterns.
  • Proficient with Git and branching strategies
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps or Jenkins
  • Familiarity using Azure cloud APIM Dapr CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Iac/Bicep)
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services including APIM and Dapr
  • Solid database skills in both SQL and NoSQL
  • Excellent debugging and code review capabilities
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience (preferred)
  • Certification in Microsoft Azure AWS or related technologies (an asset)
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $90 - $100 CAD per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
