What We Do

The Portfolio Construction Manager will be responsible for creating model portfolios for Fidelitys prospects and clients in partnership with Fidelitys Portfolio Strategists. The role will support all of Fidelitys clients by providing portfolio construction expertise regarding Fidelitys product offerings third party products industry trends and competitor intelligence. The Portfolio Construction Manager will be involved in all aspects of development and ongoing support of Fidelity Portfolio Solutions which collaborates with advisors to build customized model portfolios.

How Youll Make an Impact

-Contribute to asset allocation discussions and investment model portfolio strategy oversight and execution

  • Utilize investment tools and market research to make actionable recommendations including a detailed analysis of risk return and diversification aspects of model portfolios

  • Partner with Portfolio Strategists their clients and prospects to contribute to the building of investment models

  • Conduct third party manager research to develop a strong bench of investment options leveraging both quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • Monitor products used within model portfolios for notable changes and communicate impacts

  • Develop relationships with Fidelitys Portfolio Strategists and other internal stakeholders

-Establish Fidelity Canada as an industry leader in portfolio construction

  • Build maintain and communicate with expert level of knowledge on portfolio construction concepts

  • Identify opportunities to develop and execute portfolio construction strategies that will maximize market penetration and increase customer loyalty

  • Partner with Portfolio Strategists to educate and promote Fidelitys portfolio construction philosophy process performance and competitive strengths

  • Assist in providing thought leadership and insights regarding the marketplace

-Support Sales Marketing & Corporate Affairs with timely & relevant information

  • Provide expert insights into the development of external investment communication material ensuring portfolio construction information is correct compelling and understood relative competitor service offerings

  • Assist in the development and analysis of thought leadership pieces

  • Support portfolio construction education for those with varying degrees of investment knowledge

  • Provide insight and counsel for investment solution improvement and product development initiatives

  • Provide support for Portfolio Strategists on ad hoc portfolio construction queries

What Were Looking For

  • Completion of a University degree or equivalent work experience

  • 7 years of investment market expertise

  • Completion of CFA/MBA/CAIA is an asset

  • Canadian Asset management or wealth management industry knowledge

  • 3 years of building and maintaining model portfolios or maintained a recommended list of 3rd party investment managers and an expert level of knowledge on portfolio construction concepts
