The Role
Were looking for a creative and strategic Social Media specialist that lives and breathes Tiktok and Instagram and knows what it takes to stop the scroll spark conversations and connect audiences with News that matters.
The Job
- Lead the day-to-day content production for TikTok and Instagram bringing our Key Stories to life in platform-first ways.
- Collaborate with journalists producers and editors on social-first storytelling managing stakeholder relationships across many teams.
- Mentor and supervise staff providing just in time feedback and support.
- Work a seven-day roster with a focus on afternoons and weekends.
- Use insights and analytics to shape strategies and content to grow engagement with new and lighter audiences
- Maintain governance tools for efficient low-risk operations.
Position Description: SOCIAL MEDIA
About You
Youll have:
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience creating and managing engaging Tiktok and Instagram accounts with a news focus
- Strong visual storyteller with demonstrated grasp of social media trends and audience growth opportunities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills experience leading small teams would be beneficial
- Sound editorial judgment including legal and copyright awareness.
- Passion for diverse Australian storytelling and community connections.
