Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery improvement research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026 Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service Peninsula Health Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health a newly merged health service with more than 22000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce providing new training education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026 all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
The Department
The Alfred Cancer Program is responsible for the overall delivery of a comprehensive cancer service which involves a number of clinical areas and units including Medical Oncology Clinical Haematology Bone Marrow Transplant Apheresis State-wide Haemophilia Service Radiation Oncology Palliative Care and the Victorian Melanoma Service. Alfred Health delivers a comprehensive suite of services which involves a range of diagnostic services surgical radiation and oncology therapies. This now includes the Integrative Oncology Unit and Wellness Centre established in 2024 to provide evidence-based supportive care for cancer patients.

An exceptional opportunity exists for a motivated and skilled GR 2 Exercise Physiologist to join the Integrative Oncology Unit within the Alfred Cancer Program. This is your chance to be part of an innovative and rapidly evolving service that is redefining how supportive cancer care is delivered holistically to outpatients living with and beyond cancer.
Now in its second year of operation the Integrative Oncology Unit is located within the Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre (PFMCC) a purpose-built multidisciplinary centre designed to provide world-class patient-centred care. The Unit delivers evidence-based therapies that sit alongside traditional oncology treatments empowering patients and families to optimise health wellbeing and quality of life throughout their cancer journey.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the continued growth and development of this exciting new service.
The Role
The Grade 2 Exercise Physiologist (Integrative Oncology) will play a central role in delivering safe individualised and evidence-based exercise interventions to people affected by cancer. You are motivated to improve patient centred outcomes related to physical activity.
