Purchasing Agent
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Baudville Brands team is looking for an upbeat go-getter to support all aspects of the custom quoting and purchasing process. This includes working directly with the Baudville and RecogNation product receiving accounting and sales teams to present creative and unique product presentations as well as procure products with problem-free results on-time delivery and maintaining reasonable inventory levels. Candidates should be highly organized able to collaborate well in cross-functional teams driven by achieving on-time deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide support to the sales team daily by giving accurate quotes on goods including presentations to end users to close sales deals and achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain purchasing plans and releasing purchase orders to replenish inventory.
  • Collaborate with the team to consolidate shipments and avoid expediting expenses whenever possible.
  • Maintain a Vendor Scorecard and hold vendors accountable to our quality and delivery standards.
  • Understand the issue of Days on Hand versus Fill Rate and how to balance these daily.
  • Run reports of reorders backorders and all other reports requested.
  • Work closely with multiple departments to identify inventory issues and collaborate to resolve.
  • Reconcile invoice and inventory discrepancies.
  • Source develop and build strong relationships with all domestic and international vendors. Troubleshoot all vendor issues for assigned products.
  • Negotiate the best possible price and service guarantee while actively supporting a positive representation of Baudville Brands in all communications.
  • Must be able to prioritize and demonstrate an ability to adapt and change priorities when the situation requires and handle variations in workload. Must be able to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions to make appropriate decisions quickly.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding pertinent changes and purchasing issues.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as warranted.
KEY MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
  • Must be highly detail-oriented to achieve a 95% accuracy rate or better for all purchased products.
  • Maintain a SKU Fill Rate % of at least 98.5%
  • Keep backorder dollars below $100000
  • Create update and maintain a catalog library of all custom product best-sellers.
  • Respond to a custom request within 4 hours or less.
IDEAL CANDIDATE TRAITS:
  • Analyze and forecast an items historical usage and develop an appropriate purchasing plan.
  • Drive negotiating conversations with vendors for lower pricing improved delivery promises and/or process improvements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively positively and professionally to all internal departments and external vendors using both verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-guided and work with a high level of energy and efficiency.
  • Must be able to thrive in a collaborative team-oriented and results-driven environment
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management Marketing or other related business study.
  • 1-3 years of Purchasing experience preferred
  • Experience in Solomon or similar program preferred.
