The Admissions & Recruitment Coordinator II with the working title of Admissions Counselor will report to the Associate Director of Admissions. This position will meet with prospective students and their families in a variety of venues promoting opportunities at UW-La Crosse advising them of admission processes and recruiting students who will contribute to the strength of UW-La Crosse. This Admissions Counselor will focus on the recruitment of first year students. The successful candidate will execute recruitment efforts and develop working relationships with students parents/guardians high school counselors and community organizations. Extensive auto travel is required year-round especially during the fall and spring recruitment seasons primarily in the Midwest. This staff member will collaborate with other Admissions Office staff members working together to coordinate recruitment activities. All duties shall be executed while demonstrating a commitment to access belonging and compliance.
This is an on-campus position and the incumbent will work on the UW-La Crosse campus.

Recruitment of Prospective Students
Coordinate and implement a personalized recruitment program involving high school visits phone calls correspondence and campus visits.
Represent UW-La Crosse during high school visits at college fairs college night programs and other events.
Meet with prospective students and families in a variety of settings.
Be familiar with the academic programs of the University and other opportunities available.
Be knowledgeable about all aspects of the admissions process for new students including admissions policies and procedures standardized tests financial aid costs placement exams registration procedures residence life etc.
Participate in campus visitation programs (such as Campus Close-Ups Admission Information Sessions and other visit options).
Present admissions information to small and/or large groups of prospective students/families in a variety of settings.
Serve as counselor on call as assigned to address needs of those visiting campus.
Follow-up with applicants to encourage submission of all required application materials deposits etc.
Maintain and Manage Tracking System of Prospective Students
Maintain appropriate records to monitor recruitment tracking students from inquiry to enrollment.

Coordination of Recruitment-Related Activities
Coordinate or assist with Freshman Registration Admissions Office scholarship program La Crosse Talk newsletter for admitted new freshmen Admissions Office web page social media recruitment efforts and recruitment publications as assigned by the Associate Director.
Assist with or coordinate special projects as assigned by the Associate Director.
Recruitment Development
Participate in the development and implementation of the admissions recruitment plan.
Develop and implement strategies to establish relationships with organizations groups and individuals that can influence prospective students.
Develop and implement recruitment strategies to identify prospective students and encourage them to apply for admission.
