About The Role

Were looking for a strategic and hands-on Data Architect to help us shape modern data platforms and enable AI-powered solutions for our role is ideal for someone passionate about transforming how organizations handle process and use data to unlock business value through modernization and scalability.

As a client-facing consultant youll work closely with engineering product and business teams to design and implement modern data architectures that are ready to integrate with the new generation of AI-driven applications.

Engagement Details

• Contract Type: This is a contractor position for temporary project-based engagements.

• Compensation: Payment is made in USD.
  
  

Some activities you would do on a typical day at Cheesecake Labs:

• Design and implement end-to-end modern data architectures for scalability performance and AI-readiness.

• Define data modeling strategies (conceptual logical and physical) across multiple systems and domains.

• Evaluate recommend and implement modern data stack tools (e.g. Snowflake Databricks dbt).

• Build and optimize data pipelines and workflows for ingestion transformation and analytics.

• Define and promote data governance quality and security standards.

• Collaborate with software engineers AI engineers and business stakeholders to align data strategies with business goals.

• Provide technical leadership documentation and best practices for scalable data infrastructure.

• Stay ahead of industry trends in data engineering AI integration and cloud-native data platforms.
  
  

In order to succeed youll likely need the following skills

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Data Engineering or related field.

• 6 years of experience in data architecture or data engineering roles.

• Proven expertise with modern data stack technologies such as Snowflake Databricks dbt or equivalent tools.

• Strong understanding of data modeling ETL/ELT and workflow orchestration.

• Solid knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL MongoDB BigQuery Redshift).

• Experience defining data strategies and architectures for enterprise or AI-driven products.

• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD practices.

• Familiarity with data governance security and compliance frameworks.

• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work directly with clients in a consultative setting.

• Strong analytical thinking problem-solving and documentation skills.
  
  

Nice to Have:

• Certifications in Snowflake Databricks or dbt.

• Experience leading data modernization or AI integration initiatives.

• Knowledge of distributed data systems (e.g. Spark Kafka Delta Lake).
