Unity Lab Services provides a single source for coordinated lab services support and supply management. Our customized service offerings and elite service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customers laboratorys business needs.

Discover Impactful Work:

The position supports the daily support of the Scientific Service Program enabling the team to consistently deliver high levels of customer service for Research and Development. Responsible for meeting goals and objectives of the customer location as determined by contractual requirements.

A day in the Life:

  • Oligonucleotide synthesizer set up.
  • Order and pickup monomers amidites and reagents.
  • Preparation of media / reagents and refilling systems with reagents as needed.
  • Order solutions and buffers pickup materials and organize in cabinets
  • siRNA/peptide purification
  • HPLC instrument set up
  • Fractions analysis and pooling
  • siRNA sample desalting endotoxin testing and concentration/purity checks
  • Peptide receiving reformatting and shipping
  • Solid and liquid waste management ensuring compliance of labels and replacing as needed
  • Instrument Maintenance including daily start up and shutdown of equipment
  • Participate in customer and internal team meetings
  • Follows well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices SOPs & work instructions
  • Support other duties as assigned

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Must possess a minimum of an Associate degree in related field. Bachelors degree preferred.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in a GXP laboratory setting preferred

Knowledge Skills Abilities

  • Attention to detail; technical problem-solving skills; and multi-task
  • Trained in basic laboratory safety.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven excellence in customer service skills.
  • Detail oriented problem solver promotes a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint) and confident working in systems and databases.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to prioritize tasks to support objectives to completion.
  • Ability to establish and develop positive customer relationships.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the ability to identify inefficiencies in any process and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ability to instantly adapt to a flexible and changing schedule.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Works primarily at customer locations in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks stock rooms storage locations and laboratory environments.
  • Walking/standing required for 75-85% of the day.
  • May pass through areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin tetracycline etc.).
  • Ability to lift push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs.
  • May be able to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks.
  • Depending on the area of the building personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats coveralls hood facemask hairnets and/or safety gloves.
  • Some areas require steel toe shoes bump hats and/or safety glasses.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $21.82$32.72.
