Job Description
Montgomery College Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus has an immediate need for a Full-time Food Security & Basic Needs Program Coordinator in the Student Life Office within the Student Affairs Division. The work schedule is Monday- Friday from 8:30-5:00 with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. This is a non-bargaining exempt Grade 27 position is currently eligible for telework 1 day a week. This eligibility is subject to change based on the needs of the unit.

Duties include but are not limited to
- Develop implement and coordinate food security programming and services.
- Provide advocacy and outreach to educate the college community on food insecurity.
- Organize workshops events and educational campaigns on nutrition budgeting and meal preparation.
- Coordinate and manage food resources/inventory ensuring a consistent supply of non-perishable goods and fresh produce.
- Organize education workshops and events on nutrition budgeting and meal preparation.
- Network with local organizations and community partners to enhance resources and support for students.
- Communicate with internal and/or external constituencies regarding food related initiatives.
- Collaborate with local food banks and suppliers to secure donations and discounts for the college.
- Provide guidance and support to students facing food insecurity connecting them to available internal and external resources and programs.
- Develop and maintain accurate reporting data regarding program utilization and effectiveness. Recommends enhancements to maximize program effectiveness and allocation of resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Training and Experience Required
- Bachelors degree in public health social work psychology nutrition or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience working with student support programs in higher education
- Experience in managing coordinating or developing food security programs or initiatives.
- An equivalent combination of education training certifications or experience that demonstrates the ability to effectively perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of local resources and community organizations related to food security.
- Demonstrated experience in community organizing program development or food security initiatives.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Drivers License Required

Hiring Range $ annually. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $105432.
