Senior Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA)

Position Summary:

The Senior Oracle DBA is accountable for all operational developmental and support aspects of Oracle database environments across the GPO. This position manages standalone and clustered Oracle databases ensuring maximum availability optimal performance and adherence to security and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot daily Oracle database issues including system setups error diagnosis and configuration.
• Provide comprehensive support and maintenance for Oracle databases as well as Maria DB MySQL PostgreSQL and related technologies.
• Lead efforts in responding to change requests performing upgrades applying patches and resolving incidents.
• Assist users in database design schema development and implementation.
• Oversee backup recovery and disaster planning/testing for Oracle systems.
• Monitor database health proactively identify risks and implement mitigations.
• Collaborate with application teams for integration and optimization.
• Generate comprehensive weekly activity and incident reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree (or higher) in Computer Science Information Systems or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years experience supporting Oracle database environments in complex enterprise settings.
• Demonstrated expertise in Oracle database administration with additional experience in MariaDB MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Skilled in database patching troubleshooting root cause analysis and high-availability (HA) clustering.
• Strong knowledge of data security and regulatory compliance for Federal IT.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills; effective working with distributed and on-site teams.

Location: Work may be performed remotely with the option to work onsite at GPOs Central Office in Washington DC.
