The University of Miami UHealth Department of Imaging Services has an exciting opportunity for a Chief MRI Technologist at The Griffin Cancer Research Building (GCRB) in Miami. Covering the second shift 11:30am to 8:00pm. The incumbent maintains responsibility for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring efficient workflow of the section; compliance with budgetary policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and compliance of State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations department/hospital policies and procedures objectives and philosophy. The Chief MRI Technologist is accountable for the efficient patient throughout and 24-hr supervisory responsibility of department and of all departmental staff members scheduling technical guidance and performance improvement. The Chief MRI Technologist performs diagnostic/job functions as required of a MRI Technologist at a level that will require no supervision of technical details.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

PERFORMS ALL DUTIES OF TECH 1 2& 3

• Performs all duties of Level I & II technologist.

• Supervises imaging services including performance or supervision of tests and daily management of assigned personnel.

• Assists in compilation of statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.

• Contributions to the preparation of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative and operational policies procedures and regulations.

• Responsible for hire discipline and promotion of department staff.

• Obtains and examines the diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of exam ordered and any special notes or comments.

• Coordinate/manage scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.

• Collaborates in the development of in-service training for departmental staff.

• Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases promotions and disciplinary actions.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience certification or license

Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required

Certification and Licensing:
Valid State of Florida General Radiographer license required
