Teacher First Compensation Model (TFC)
At Kairos we invest in teachers first. Our Teacher First Compensation (TFC) model provides transparent performance-based pay that rewards professional growth collaboration and classroom impactnot tenure.
Annual Salary Range ():
  • Professional: $60000
  • Advanced: $70000
  • Exemplary: $80000
  • $3000 Signing Bonus
Salary bands are determined through Kairos TFC performance framework and are reviewed annually through individualized growth and feedback cycles.
Position Summary
The Physical Education Teacher plays a pivotal role in helping all students build the confidence character and self-direction needed for lifelong success. This teacher leads engaging instruction across Physical Education Health and Wellness and Personal Finance aligned with Kairos mission to develop self-directed learners leaders and citizens.
Through strong relationships data-informed instruction and coaching-based mentorship Kairos teachers empower students to take ownership of their growth.

Core Responsibilities
Instructional Excellence
  • Deliver high-quality standards-aligned lessons that promote engagement teamwork and healthy habits.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and ensure equitable outcomes for all students.
  • Regularly analyze data to inform instruction and provide personalized supports.
  • Offer timely actionable feedback that drives both academic and personal growth.
  • Maintain organized records of student progress and participation.
Student Relationships & Mentorship
  • Build authentic trusting relationships that nurture motivation and persistence.
  • Serve as a Mentor for a small pod of studentsholding 1:1 check-ins setting goals and teaching self-management skills.
  • Communicate proactively with families about progress goals and celebrations.
  • Model self-awareness resilience and accountability as part of daily practice.
Collaboration & Professional Growth
  • Partner with colleagues to plan and refine instruction through data and peer feedback.
  • Engage in coaching cycles professional learning communities (PLCs) and reflection meetings.
  • Pursue continuous growth aligned with Kairos priorities and your own development goals.
  • Contribute to a positive solutions-oriented team culture grounded in Kairos values.
Whole-School Leadership
  • Contribute to schoolwide culture and belonging through community events celebrations and restorative practices.
  • Support the implementation of social-emotional learning (SEL) and positive behavior frameworks.
  • Take on leadership or project-based responsibilities as needed (e.g. Grade-Level Lead Wellness Coordinator).
Key Indicators of Success
  • Academic & Skill Growth: 70% of students meet or exceed growth targets on performance benchmarks.
  • Culture & Belonging: 85% of students report feeling known supported and challenged.
  • Persistence & Attendance: 90% persistence and 85% daily attendance in class cohort.
  • Family Partnership: 85% family satisfaction with communication and learning experience.
  • Professional Growth: Meets or exceeds goals in Kairos TFC performance framework.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelors degree in Education or related field
  • Valid Missouri Substitute Certification
  • Demonstrated passion for student growth and development
  • Strong interpersonal communication and classroom management skills
Preferred:
  • Valid Missouri Teacher Certification or eligibility to obtain promptly
  • 3 years of teaching experience with proven results in student growth
  • Masters degree in Education Leadership or related field
  • Familiarity with project-based learning personalized instruction or executive-function coaching.
Work Schedule & Environment
  • MondayFriday 7:30 AM 4:30 PM (hours may vary by grade level and/or WSS Role)
  • Occasional evening and weekend events (family nights showcases performances)
  • Fast-paced collaborative student-centered environment
  • On-site role at Kairos Academies St. Louis MO
