As an Advanced Pharmacy Technicianyou will join a fast-paced ever-changing environment where the team works together for a shared purpose. Advanced Pharmacy Techniciansplay an essential role in the medication use process. They are responsible for compounding parenteral medications in a newly constructed clean room processing medication orders and ensuring patients have their medications when requested.
As an Advanced Pharmacy Technician you will perform all duties of a pharmacy technician may involve controlled substances compounding hazardous and non-hazardous medications investigational drugs or pharmacy purchasing. These duties are performed in compliance with the departmental policies and procedures providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patients at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the provision of safe accurate and timely medication distribution and reliable pharmaceutical care to a variety of patient populations.

Position Details
We anticipate that you will generally work approximately 40 hours per week. We anticipate that you will generally be scheduled to work the day shift 8.5-hour shifts ranging from 7am-6pm and will not be scheduled for on-call shifts. The days of the week that you are scheduled will be Monday-Friday.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
