Key Responsibilities
I. Instructional Duties (50%)
Curriculum Delivery:Develop plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive instruction for all levels of the Sports Medicine and Health Science curriculum.
EMR Training:Teach and oversee practical labs related to emergency medical response preparing students for careers in healthcare and public safety.
Student Assessment:Evaluate and grade student performance using a variety of assessments to measure learning and achievement of course standards.
Classroom Management:Maintain a safe effective and positive learning environment conducive to student success and ethical learning practices.
II. Athletic Training Duties (50%)
Injury Prevention & Care:Provide immediate and continuing care prevention evaluation and rehabilitation for athletic injuries sustained by student-athletes.
Game & Practice Coverage:Attend and provide medical coverage for scheduled school athletic practices and events (including evenings and weekends as required).
Documentation:Maintain accurate thorough and confidential medical records and documentation for all treated student-athletes.
Facility Management:Manage and maintain the athletic training room inventory supplies and ensure all equipment is in safe working order.
Required Qualifications
Education:Bachelors degree or higher in Athletic Training Sports Medicine Health Education or a related field.
Certification (Athletic Training):Must hold current certification from theBoard of Certification (BOC) as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).
Licensure (State):Must hold or be eligible to obtain astate licenseto practice as an Athletic Trainer
Licensure (EMR):Must hold acurrent Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) licenseORbe willing and able to successfully complete the required training and obtain the EMR license within the first 90 days/one semester of employment.
Teaching Credential:Must hold or be eligible to obtain astate teaching certification.
Desired Skills & Attributes
Proven experience working with high school or collegiate-level athletics.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students coaches parents and healthcare professionals.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team of educators and coaches.
Commitment to the health safety and well-being of all students.
