PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
(HAMER FORM FILL SEAL (FFS) BAGGING LINE)
Successful candidates will have a minimum of three (3) years of continuous and current experience as a Supervisor and/or General Foremanin a petrochemical industrial or manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe execution of work assigned to crew(s)
- Assuring all employees comply with safety procedures
- Conducting safety meetings
- Examining equipment and tools to assure their integrity and safe use; and all other safety related items required during performance of the work
- Responsible for efficient and productive use of workers equipment tools etc.
- Responsible for furnishing complete and accurate information with respect to timesheet job progress reports etc.
- Responsible for assuring that work of employees meets minimum acceptable standards
- Coordinates work of assigned Foreman with Foreman assigned to other General Foremen
- Assures that materials are at the job site when required
- Assists in planning estimating and scheduling as requested and performs personnel related activities (evaluation discipline etc.) as required by contractor
Essential Job Functions:
The Supervisor has overall responsibility for coordinating maintenance planning and scheduling of work with Mundy and customer site personnel. The Supervisor directly supervise the supervisors of crews consisting of various crafts and must coordinate planning for each job with a constant focus on safety quality productivity employee relations and costs. The Supervisorhas leadership responsibilities for of the first line supervisors under their direction and a direct supervisory responsibility for the direction and personal development of their assigned employees.Knowledge and Skill Requirements:A Supervisor must have a working knowledge of the industry served by the Mundy Companies and experience in the crafts or maintenance services to be supervised. They must consistently maintain a distinguished record of safety performance and must have the ability to plan organize coordinate and execute work projects and schedules. Unquestioned integrity coupled with a demonstrated dedication to the Mundy Companies values and vision is mandatory for anyone in this position. Supervisor must have superior leadership qualities as well as management ability and must possess good human resources skills. Good written and verbal communications skills are a required. Basic computer software knowledge is also required.

- Monitor work practices and behaviors
- Insure compliance to safety procedures
- Give good safety meetings and make sure your actions match the message you have communicated to crew
- Administer discipline and recognition equally fairly and consistently
- Put equal emphasis on safety quality and productivity
- Active participation in incident investigation
- Come up with creative ideas for injury prevention
- Hold employees accountable for behaviors and non compliance to procedures and polices
Quality:
- Match employee skills to job assignments
- Evaluate employee skills and provide training as needed
- Insure compliance to procedures No Leak Start Up etc
- Investigate and identify root cause of rework and take appropriate action
- Communicate expectations and standards to all employees
- Make daily observations and evaluate methods skills and work quality
- Hold each employee accountable for their respective work
Productivity:
- Keep extra work on hand to keep people busy during down time between jobs
- Move people to other crews when work is slow
- Keep crew meetings short and to the point
- Pre- Plan the next days work when possible
- Monitor start times stop times and breaks
- Put the right number of people on each job
- Evaluate the most efficient crew mix on each job and staff accordingly
- Use the latest methods and work practices on all jobs
- Be creative and consistently look for new and more productive ways to work
- Insure the right tools and material are available and on the job in a timely manner
Human Resources:
- Interview new employee candidates as required
- Assist employee career development
- Handle employee and customer personnel complaints
- Ensure company policies job requirements including training are being communicated to all employees
- Consistently apply the five (5) principles of good employee relations
- Stay abreast of any activities with potential legal liability i.e. E.E.O.C. sexual harassment union activity
The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all time. This positions requires a strong commitment to safety quality and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe efficient manner. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing is also qualified applicants must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test as well as the ability to pass a criminal background check pre-employment drug screen and other qualifications as required.
