Overview:

We are seeking a strategic and experienced leader to serve as Vice President of Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) and Facilities. This global role will drive world-class performance in EHS&S and facilities management across multiple business units. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive data-driven approach to risk management compliance and sustainability while fostering a zero-harm culture and operational excellence. This role reports to our Vice President of Quality & Operational Excellence and collaborates closely with our senior executives including Business Unit (BU) Presidents Plant Leadership and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead global EHS&S strategy and compliance efforts in collaboration with senior executives and plant leadership.

  • Lead the implementation and promotion of proactive EHS and security strategies to achieve and sustain a zero-harm culture across all global business units.

  • Oversee corporate facilities operations including space planning real estate and vendor management.

  • Develop and execute security operations strategy ensuring regulatory compliance and effective incident response.

  • Champion continuous improvement sustainability initiatives and cross-functional best practice sharing.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and develop a team of EHS security and facilities professionals across various geographies and locations.

  • Contribute to the companys sustainability goals by leading tracking and coordinating resource efficiency efforts throughout the organization.

  • Support business growth through project reviews systematically assessing EHS and security risks and developing appropriate control plans.

  • Establish guidelines and criteria for hazard identification and quantification.

  • Provide expert advice on the interpretation and application of environmental management and occupational health and safety regulations.

  • Evaluate and champion the effectiveness of new and evolving industrial control mechanisms and design best practices for EHS and security.

  • Ensure key learnings from incident investigations risk assessments internal program reviews and audits are shared across the organization and implemented effectively.

  • Conduct regular EHS and security performance reviews and assessments to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and corporate requirements.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive security operations strategy that aligns with overall business goals.

  • Oversee the response to security incidents ensuring timely and effective resolution while minimizing impact on clients and operations.

  • Establish and enforce security policies procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Represent the company in industry forums trade associations and NGO meetings to share knowledge influence decision-making and promote the companys brand.

  • Conduct internal and external benchmarking to apply insights from different industries to solve issues and problems.

  • Manage worker compensation claims and files with support from the Risk Manager.

  • Oversee all facility activities including contract labor mail janitorial and dining services HVAC plumbing electrical and ground maintenance.

  • Lead the Corporate Facilities team to excel in office management space planning design/furniture real estate emergency response and maintenance. Partner with stakeholders on the corporate facilities budget.

  • Develop and execute security operations strategy ensuring regulatory compliance and effective incident response.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in occupational health and safety engineering facilities management or a related field (Masters degree strongly preferred).

  • 15 years of progressive environmental occupational health safety and facilities management experience including 10 years in a leadership capacity.

  • Experience in corporate security management.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex global operations.

  • Demonstrated leadership communication and collaboration skills.

  • Solid business acumen and understanding of how EHS and business goals align to drive efficiency and value.

  • Experience with Lean tools including Toyota Production System.

  • Exceptional interpersonal negotiation and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in contractor and supplier management.

  • Strong advocate for change with a bias for action.

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $225000 to $325000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge skills and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
