Rail & Civil Engineering Buildings Asset Management

Location: Warrington or Penrith (North West & Central region)

Overview:
An outstanding opportunity for a skilled and experienced Site Agent in rail and civil engineering to advance their career within a dynamic project and maintenance environment. Your role will focus on overseeingBuilding Asset Maintenance Projects along the LNW route ensuring successful project delivery and compliance with all stipulated regulations and quality standards.

Business Unit:
Join a fast-paced business unit specialising in a diverse array of Infrastructure Projects and Framework contracts in rail and civil engineering environments. Your work will involve projects related to bridges embankments stations platforms tunnels structural steel installations and moving structures collaborating with various clients and tier 1 contractors.

CAM Framework Responsibilities:
The Buildings Asset Management (BAM) framework encompasses a variety of maintenance activities involving structures and assets such as:

  • Bridges (underbridges overbridges footbridges)
  • Viaducts
  • Tunnels
  • Walls (boundary retaining and acoustic barriers)
  • Drainage systems including culverts
  • River coastal and estuarine defence works
  • Earthworks (soil and rock cuttings associated drainage)
  • Mining infrastructure (shafts adits)
  • Ancillary structures (foundations support structures access roads)

The Role:
As Site Agent you will be accountable for the daily management of buildingsasset management projects ranging from 5k to 2m. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing contracts in alignment with legislative requirements health and safety plans and quality standards.
  • Delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Collaborating with site staff and managing surveyors to ensure compliance with tender allowances.
  • Continuously monitoring project progress against contract objectives.
  • Identifying and managing changes to the contract.
  • Providing formal reports on contract progress to the Contracts Manager.

Requirements:
To be successful in this position you should possess:

  • Prior experience as a Site Agent in rail and civil engineering.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • A degree HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience at a Site Agent or Sub Agent level within a rail/civil engineering contracting environment.
  • Experience working on multi-disciplinary rail and civil infrastructure maintenance frameworks; CRE approval is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-volume work environment.
