Job Summary

Primary Purpose:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced LPAC Clerk to work part-time in our Language Proficiency Assessment Committee. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in language assessment and experience working with English language learners.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors degree in Education Linguistics or related field

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Preferred Experience with LPAC procedures and language assessment tools
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Preferred experience working with English language learners
  • Strong knowledge of language assessment and proficiency standards (e.g. WIDA TELPAS)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations and staff
  • Availability to work part-time (approx. 20 hours/week)

Preference(s):

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Administer and score language proficiency assessments (e.g. TELPAS WIDA)
  • Participate in LPAC meetings to determine student language proficiency levels and program placement
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement language support plans
  • Provide training and support for teachers on language assessment and instructional strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of student language proficiency data
  • Additional duties assigned
