Job Summary

Position Overview Stratford Public School is seeking a part-time grant-funded Student Assistance Program Coordinator(SAP-C) to serve students in grades K8. The SAP-C will work three days per week during the school year providing direct support prevention education and crisis intervention while connecting students and families with needed resources. This position plays a critical role in fostering student well-being and resilience so that academic social emotional and behavioral challenges do not hinder student success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct Student Services Conduct screenings and assessments Work with students families and student support team to identify student needs and risk factors as well as protective factors Provide individual and group sessions addressing substance misuse peer pressure bullying family stress and behavioral health. Deliver crisis intervention and ongoing support for students experiencing acute challenges. Teach and reinforce coping strategies emotional regulation communication and self-advocacy skills. Connect students to positive youth development opportunities. Prevention & Education Deliver age-appropriate prevention lessons and activities at key developmental stages. Lead schoolwide initiatives that promote healthy choices resiliency and a positive school climate. Support families through outreach parent engagement and education activities. Collaboration & Consultation Actively participate in the Student Support Team (MTSS-B Tier II/Tier III). Collaborate with teachers administrators and parents to support student learning and well-being. Partner with community resources to coordinate referrals and wraparound services. Data & Reporting Maintain confidential student records and documentation of services. Track program outcomes and prepare required reports for accountability and grant compliance. Qualifications Required Experience working with children or adolescents in education youth development counseling or related settings. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with K8 students families and staff. Knowledge of youth mental health trauma-informed practices or substance misuse prevention (through work experience or training). Commitment to ongoing professional development and training in prevention counseling and student support practices. Commitment to working towards obtaining the Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) credential (training and supervision provided). Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with K8 students families and staff. Knowledge of youth mental health trauma-informed practices and substance misuse prevention. Ability to collaborate within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS-B). Strong organizational skills including data tracking and reporting. Other: Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning. Preferred Bachelors degree in social work psychology counseling education public health or a related field. Masters degree or professional licensure (e.g. Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor School Counselor or Social Worker). Experience providing case management referral coordination or participation in a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS-B). Experience leading group lessons or family education activities. Data collection and reporting experience for program accountability. Position Details Part-Time: 3 days per week during the 202526 school year. Grade Levels: Kindergarten through 8th grade. Location: Stratford Public School Stratford NH. Compensation: Grant-funded; continuation subject to available funding. $18-$25/hour based on experience and credentials.
