The Northern Land Council (NLC) is seeking an experienced Regional Operations Manager to lead the delivery of statutory obligations regional business support and land use agreements across multiple sectors. This is a senior leadership opportunity to contribute directly to Aboriginal self-determination while supporting the NLCs strategic regionalisation agenda.

About the role

The Regional Operations Manager oversees and directs the Regional Operations Section of the Regional Development team ensuring timely compliant and effective service delivery in relation to s19 Land Use Commercial Development and Pastoral Activities. The role also contributes to the implementation of NLCs regionalisation strategies ensuring services are aligned with the needs of constituents and obligations under the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act 1976 (ALRA) and Native Title Act 1993.

In addition you will have:

  • Diploma level qualifications in a relevant field such as business regional development land use planning and land use management or a similar field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a senior operational management role that is accountable for delivery of legislative obligations and funding agreement outcomes
  • A minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience in leading teams which demonstrates the ability to build lead and inspire teams.
  • Sound knowledge of the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act 1976 and the Native Title Act 1993 and other Legislation which affects the land rights of Aboriginal people in the NT.
