- Supervision is exercised over two or more merit full-time positions working in a variety of mechanical/trades fields per the Merit Rules. The elements of supervision include planning assigning reviewing evaluating coaching training recommending hire/fire and discipline.
- Designs sketches and prints of remodeling that needs to be done and inspects the work.
- Coordinates and works with contractors architects and others on large construction projects.
- Assists in projecting budget for maintenance operations and report preparation.
- Oversees the operation maintenance and repair of boilers pumps water and other treatment installations.
- May supervise grounds maintenance or custodial workers.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Physical Plant Maintenance Supervisor
Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Three years experience in operating and maintaining a variety of equipment hand and power tools used in trades fields such as plumbing carpentry painting or HVAC.
- Three years experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing carpentry painting or HVAC.
- Six months experience in interpreting safety and building codes laws rules regulations policies and procedures.
- Six months experience in estimating cost time and materials for projects.
- Six months experience in interpreting blueprints schematics or technical drawings.
- Six months experience in staff supervision which includes planning assigning reviewing and evaluating the work of others.
- Knowledge of planning directing and implementing maintenance and preventative maintenance programs involving all aspects of trades fields such as plumbing carpentry painting or HVAC.
- Possession of a valid Drivers License (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).
