Job Summary

N-iX is looking for a Java Full-stack Engineer to join our team.

About the project:

Our customer is the leading school transportation provider in North America being the owner of more than a half of all yellow school buses in the United States. Every day the company completes 5 million student journeys moving more passengers than all U.S. airlines combined and delivers reliable quality services for 1100 school districts.

N-iX has built a successful cooperation with the client delivering a range of complex initiatives. As a result N-iX has been selected as a strategic long-term partner to drive the digital transformation on an enterprise level fully remodeling the technology landscape for 55000 employees and millions of people across North America.

Requirements:

2 years of backend development experience;
1 years of experience with Web frontend development;
Understanding of serverless computing (AWS);
AWS development experience;
Good experience with SQL and/or NoSql databases;
Knowledge of CI/CD best practices;
English - Intermediate Strong level.

Would be a plus:

Understanding of Java backend development toolset;
Good knowledge of non-relational DBs (DynamoDB);
Experience with relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL).

Responsibilities:

Work on improvements to existing cloud based system in order to facilitate portfolio level changes;
Perform root cause analysis of identified issues define the plan for their fixing and the means to prevent such issues in future;
Identify areas for improvements inside existing system;
Perform peer code reviews.
