The opportunity

Join a team of project managers analysts and subject matter experts delivering impactful transport and energy projects across English- and Portuguese-speaking African countries. As a Senior Consultant youll support and lead proposal development and project execution while deepening your technical expertise.

This role is best suited for a management consultant with 4 to 5 years of experience focused on transport or power sector advisory in emerging economies and experience successfully delivering projects while leading a multidisciplinary team of consultants.

Your responsibilities

Under the leadership of our Vice Presidents Anglophone and Lusophone Division you will

  • Lead and support business development efforts including writing proposals tracking market developments and building and maintaining relationships with clients and partners
  • Conduct technical analysis for transport and power sector projects
  • Manage or support project execution including managing and coordinating a multidisciplinary team of experts and their inputs liaising with clients and project administration

What you bring to the team

  • Masters degree in Finance Economics Business Administration or another relevant field or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
  • Three or more years of experience in management consulting in the power or transport sectors
  • Understanding of the power or transport sector including institutional operational financial and technical aspects.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in English (both spoken and written)
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required conditions permitting

  • Ability to read write and speak an additional language such as Portuguese and/or French
  • Experience in emerging economies (especially Sub-Saharan Africa)
  • Understanding of the specific power and transportation sector challenges of emerging economies
  • Ability to think critically and independently with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to thrive under pressure
  • Ability to effectively manage consulting projects leading a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong desire to evolve in the transport or power sectors
  • Ability to communicate clearly (both spoken and written)
  • Ability to work with incomplete data and partial information as is often the case in emerging economies
  • Experience in one or more of the following topics and/or subsectors:
    • Financial analysis and modelling
    • Project finance
    • Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs/P3)
    • PPP transaction advisory
    • Economic cost-benefit analysis (CBA)
    • Passenger and/or freight analysis forecasting and modelling
    • Urban transit
    • Toll roads
    • Electric mobility
    • Economics and regulation of the power sector
    • Electricity tariff analysis and modelling
    • Competitive power markets
    • Climate change
    • Climate adaptation
    • Climate finance
