Position Description:
This is an on-site opportunity requiring 5 days work from CGI Halifax NS or Moncton NB or St. Johns NL office every week.

We are expanding in Atlantic Canada and we need your skills enthusiasm and dedication as part of our team. We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Angular TypeScript and other front-end technologies along with experience in modern back-end platforms such as Java Spring Spring Boot Microservices CI/CD and other frameworks. Join this exciting new initiative as a Full Stack Developer.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Design develop and implement web applications including adherence to coding standards and building/running appropriate unit and integration tests and deployment scripts.
- Develop responsive modular web applications using Angular and modern web technologies.
- Build and optimize data layers with Spring Data JPA Hibernate and effective transaction management.
- Manage database versioning and migrations with Flyway or similar tools.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for system integration.
- Collaborate with designers to deliver intuitive user-friendly interfaces.
- Optimize front-end performance and ensure scalability of the UI components.
- Contribute to continual improvement by suggesting improvements to all aspects of product development.
- Contribute to DevOps practices for smooth automated delivery and operations.
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and high application reliability
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field; software development.
- 6 years of professional experience in the area of Full Stack development using modern front and back-end technologies.
- Knowledge of JavaScript libraries such as jQuery and their use in building complex interactive experiences.
- Familiarity with MVC frameworks (AngularJS Angular 2 or similar) and common JavaScript design patterns.
- Familiarity with Responsive Designs; AngularJS or extensive JavaScript.
- Experience in Java (up to version 17) Spring/SpringBoot Maven multi-threading AWS / horizontal scaling techniques unit-testing Karate / BDD / integration testing SQL and Database programming (Hibernate and/or MyBatis).
- Experience and knowledge of RESTful APIs or other Web Services.
- Experience on Kafka.
- Familiarity with Agile concepts in an enterprise setting is a plus.
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems concepts and architecture a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Strong communication skills (technical descriptions and diagramming escalation written in-person adaptive as appropriate to the audience etc.).
