The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Serves as technical expert in their domain recognized as the go-to expert internally and externally
- Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for AECOMs Gulf Surface Transportation Division and the West Region Structures Team Provides guiding direction and ultimate oversight of engineering engagements.
- Sets direction and goals for technology and/or business line.
- External spokesperson on technical engineering issues.
- Leads the technology strategy for individuals area of expertise.
- Technical point of contact for strategic clients and member of AECOM senior leadership team.
- As necessary modifies established guidelines devises new approaches applies existing criteria in new ways and draws conclusions from comparative situations.
- May provide technical guidance to a modest sized group of engineers designers and specialists.
- Fully versed in the project change control process and can identify a potential change.
- Fully versed with and can check and review the work sequence general content and the methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material equipment systems services or construction within a specific discipline.
- Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria.
- Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained worker.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS EXTENSIVE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
- 20 years of bridge design and plan development experience
- Master of Science or Ph.D. in Civil/Structural Engineering degree.
- Professional Engineer in Texas
- Project experience with TxDOT major bridge project design work and deliverables along with related to Texas state and/or local bridge design project work.
- Proficiency in software such as MicroStation LEAP Concrete/Bridge PTC MathCAD CSiBridge and/or MIDAS Civil.
- Experience leading a staff of engineers and CAD personnel.
- Experience in the plan production of transportation structures such as bridges culverts sign structures and retaining walls.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills including technical report writing.
- Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools software)
- Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices techniques and applicable codes
- Seismic and inelastic analysis and design experience is preferred.
- Ability to do occasional field work (site visits and inspections) and travel.
