Fire Fighting Engineer (68 Years Experience) Healthcare Projects (UK & Nordic Region)

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Fire Fighting Engineer with 68 years of professional experience in the design of fire protection systems for healthcare and complex building projects supporting export projects for the UK and Nordic markets. The candidate will be responsible for developing fire protection designs in accordance with NFPA British and European Standards ensuring compliance with local fire authority regulations and international best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design of fire protection systems including sprinkler systems hydrants wet/dry risers hose reels fire
- suppression and clean agent systems in accordance with latest NFPA.
- Prepare design deliverables such as layouts schematics hydraulic calculations equipment schedules and
- technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA BS and EN standards and project-specific healthcare fire safety guidelines.
- Coordinate with architecture structure and other MEP disciplines to achieve fully integrated fire protection
- designs.
- Prepare /review project specifications material submissions and technical documentation.
- Participate in internal and client design review meetings to discuss technical aspects and design solutions.
- Provide inputs for value engineering sustainability and system optimization.
- Support QA/QC process risk assessments and ensure alignment with project BIM workflows.
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- 68 years of relevant design experience in fire protection systems for healthcare residential commercial
- or institutional buildings.
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA EN 12845 BS 9999 and BS 7974 standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Revit MEP and hydraulic calculation software (e.g. MagiCAD Elite Canute or
- similar).
- Good understanding of fire safety design principles smoke control and evacuation systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with global teams.
- Experience working with International (UK/Nordic) projects will be an added advantage
Additional Information :
Preferred / Desirable:
Familiarity with Healthcare Fire Safety Regulations.
Experience in digital design delivery and BIM workflows.
Working towards membership of IMechE / IFireE / NFPA / IFE or equivalent professional bodies.
