Our premises are within the Purdys Wharf complex which provides amenities such as an on-site daycare and fitness centre. Our office is connected to the downtown pedway system and situated on Halifaxs beautiful waterfront providing easy access to ferry and bus transit hubs banks restaurants and shopping.

The opportunity

Working collaboratively within the client services team and reporting to the Senior Manager Client Services (the Manager) the Client Service Analyst (Analyst) supports our goals of continuously improving the client service experience. This is achieved through the development and maintenance of process and training documentation the design and delivery of a phased training program and ongoing review of processes and their effectiveness. With a strong focus on quality assurance and communications you will be responsible for conducting regular audits of calculation-based production transactions while coordinating enhancements/improvement to system generated and procedural communications to improve business efficiency and the client service experience.

What you need to be successful

  • Bachelors degree in commerce business administration or a related field plus five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Related experience includes pension benefits or insurance administration or a similar industry with a focus on education training audit quality assurance and/or process improvement responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of policies procedures regulations and legislation related to the pension plans serviced particularly as they pertain to member pensioner and survivor benefits.
  • Experience interpreting plan text regulations and legislation.
  • Working knowledge of indirect plans and related organizations to support accurate interpretation and application within the Client Service training program.
  • Highly developed analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office applications
  • Proven technical aptitude; including in-depth knowledge of Ariel (or other pension administration systems) and SAP (or other payroll systems).
  • A Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (C.E.B.S.) designation or Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) is considered an asset.
  • A Certified Training and Development Professional designation or equivalent adult education/training is considered an asset.

Job Status: Permanent Full Time; unionized (NSGEU)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 35 hours per week

Salary Range: $3130.71 - $3665.04 (bi-weekly)
