About the Role
In this pivotal role youll leverage your expertise to assess intricate risks craft effective pricing strategies and ensure regulatory compliance. Youll play a key part in contributing to our companys profitability while ensuring top-tier client satisfaction.
What Youll Do

Underwritenew and renewal submissions specifically for trucking and transportation accounts.
Assess riskcomprehensively analyzing loss history operational details driver exposure safety protocols and DOT compliance.
Assign appropriate classification codesanddevelop strategic pricingin line with company and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate closelywith brokers agents and internal teams to gather necessary information and negotiate policy terms.
Mentor and guidejunior underwriters and team members sharing your valuable insights.
Monitor portfolio performance identify emerging trends and recommend proactive strategic actions.
Ensure all underwriting decisionsadhere to internal policies and state-level workers compensation regulations.
Maintain meticulous documentationof all underwriting decisions and communications.
Represent the companyat industry events conferences and client meetings as needed.

What You Bring

4 years of workers compensation underwriting experience with at least2 years specifically focused on the trucking and transportation sectors.
Strong understandingof workers compensation laws NCCI classification codes and rating systems.
Familiarity with trucking operations driver safety programs and DOT/CAB report analysis.
Proven abilityto evaluate complex risk profiles and make sound underwriting decisions.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and industry-standard underwriting tools.
Exceptional communication negotiation and relationship-building skills.
A Bachelors degree in Business Risk Management Finance or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Professional designations (WCP TRIP ARM CPCU) are a definite plus.
