Summary
This Clinical Resource Nurse (RN) job exists within a designated inpatient specialty area. Under the direction of the Patient Care Unit Director and/or Nurse Manager the Resource Nurse performs the duties and responsibilities of shift charge nurse for the patient populations served on that unit/department. The Resource Nurse is assigned to a designated clinical area to assist in assuring a patient/family-focused environment. The Resource Nurse consistently provides high standards of quality patient care and holds care providers accountable to clinical and service standards. The Resource Nurse is adept in and coaches others to utilize critical thinking skills. He/she implements and evaluates systems that promote cost effective quality patient care. He/she is a front line member of the management team. The Resource Nurse is responsible for supporting professional nursing practice and delivering quality patient care.
Education
Graduate from an accredited Nursing program required. Bachelors degree (B.S.N.) from four-year college or university preferred.
Certification Registration & Licensure
Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
certification or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) specific to unit.
Licensure required: Licensed to practice in Nursing in the state of New Hampshire.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of acute care clinical experience in specific area of nursing with demonstrated clinical proficiency at a Clinical Nurse II or higher level. Previous supervisory/leadership experience desired.
