Whats the role
Westpacs Cyber Threat Intelligence team provides strategic operational and tactical insights to protect the business. Were seeking a threat intelligence specialist to help analyse and assess sophisticated threat actors that may pose a threat to Westpac and its stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical thinking clear communication and a curious investigative mindset.
Complementing a fun friendly and highly engaging team of specialists on a daily basis youll produce clear concise analysis and reporting on real-time global and domestic cyber threats including situation and analyst reports. Youll assess emerging threats with short-turnaround insights and deliver briefings or presentations on threat actors impacting our environment.
Importantly youll maintain awareness of evolving threats across the Asia-Pacific region and collaborate closely with teams across the Information Security Group. This role also offers opportunities to contribute to industry and government cybersecurity initiatives helping shape a safer digital landscape for all.
What do I need
- Experience in technology focussed intelligence gathering or cybersecurity analysis role to date.
- Foundational technical knowledge and understanding of cyber incident response.
- Strong written narrative expertise whereby you can take info from multiple data sources and create a concise copy to be used by the team and importantly the broader business.
- Top verbal communication & stakeholder management ability with strong attention to detail.
- Well-developed research critical thinking and analytical skills (formal training is a plus).
- A natural curiosity and awareness of key global cyber threats.
- Passion for cybersecurity and cutting-edge technology with a drive to learn and grow in this exciting space.
