Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Program Management Office (PMO) Director to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals on our Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) program. CAEIO provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks applications and databases supporting consular applications and services globally.
The PMO Director will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the programs management framework ensuring consistent execution of processes governance standards reporting performance and service solutions. The PMO Director will drive alignment between delivery objectives and customer requirements enabling effective performance compliance and strategic decision-making across a complex transformative IT program.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and operational oversight of the PMO ensuring consistent standards methodologies and governance across the program.
- Provide leadership and ensure alignment of program goals and execution with customer mission priorities and objectives.
- Manage a team of project managers performance management specialists communications specialists and technical writers/knowledge managers. Evaluate performance provide mentorship and identify resource or skills gaps to foster a culture of accountability collaboration and professional growth.
- Implement and maintain consistent Agile product management and hybrid project management practices to ensure optimal workstreams across the customers organization and transparent task tracking.
- Track and report on project milestones risks issues schedules dependencies and impediments to customer stakeholders and drive decision-making to prioritize and advance project progress.
- Facilitate change control processes assessing and documenting impacts to scope schedule and performance.
- Lead the development of program performance dashboards data visualizations and executive briefings and reports for internal and customer senior leadership.
- Manage stakeholder engagement and communications -- including with internal and customer senior leadership external stakeholders/teams across the customer organization and cross-functional teams and subject matter experts -- to share updates and information across the program.
- Maintain a repository of program documentation and deliverables to meet customer requirements and regulations and to promote knowledge management best practices. Establish and support quality assurance and compliance review processes to validate deliverables against contract and customer requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the PMO to optimize efficiency and service delivery ensuring responsiveness to evolving requirements.
Core Work Schedule: 8:00 AM ET - 4:00 PM ET (flexible) Monday - Friday.
Work Location: Must be local to Washington DC area. This position is currently hybrid with remote work and up to 2 days per week in the Peraton office in Sterling VA and/or customer site in Washington DC. The number of days in office is subject to change based on program or government requirements.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and an active SECRET Government Security Clearance.
- Experience working in program management for software development database management infrastructure or network environment projects.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and tools (SAFe Product Management Kanban Scrum hybrid frameworks and Jira) and experience managing Agile delivery teams.
- Demonstrable ability to develop and execute governance structures reports/dashboards performance management tools and knowledge sharing tools (e.g. SharePoint Confluence).
- Excellent communications leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and executive leaders.
- Experience providing operational task support in a highly demanding environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading PMO within a federal contracting or IT modernization environment.
- PMP and/or Agile certifications (PMI-ACP SAFe or CSM).
- Experience conducting market research about performing technical analysis/review of and making recommendations for technology capabilities .
Education and Experience Requirements: 16 years of experience may have management experience.

Target Salary Range
$176000 - $282000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position employees may be eligible for overtime shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
