Position Summary
INDIANA UNIVERSITY MAURER SCHOOL OF LAW invites applications from candidates interested in joining its full-time faculty as a clinical law professor. We are seeking candidates who have substantial experience in family law domestic relations law or in related matters to manage a public interest legal services clinic focused on representing indigent and low-income clients in Monroe County and other counties in Indiana. The position requires an unwavering commitment to teaching and mentoring students in an environment dedicated to excellence as well as strong enthusiasm for leveraging technology to expand the reach and impact of public interest initiatives. The clinical faculty member position includes both service and teaching obligations including but not limited to: Designing implementing and managing clinical projects that fulfill the programs mission of providing experiential learning and community service; Supervising and mentoring law students in real-world casework including client interviews legal research and court appearances; Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to design and implement technological tools and solutions to enhance the programs reach and efficacy; Assisting faculty colleagues in a larger law school project to coordinate the various public interest student opportunities at Maurer Law into a cohesive public interest experiential program; Collaborating with faculty and staff to integrate public interest initiatives into the broader curriculum; Establishing and maintaining partnerships with local community organizations and local courts; and Participating actively in faculty governance including with clinical faculty voting rights and committee work. This position is expected to commence on July 1 2026 but an earlier start date is negotiable. Salary range depending on qualifications and experience begins at $105000 for a 12-month appointment with generous employer-supported benefits. Clinical faculty at Maurer are on a series of five-year presumptively renewable contracts upon promotion to clinical professor. We welcome lateral applicants as well as less experienced applicants.
