Elk Island Public Schools and Next Step are excited to offer Diploma Midpoint Review sessions for all diploma-level 30-1 & 30-2 students from November 1215. These sessions are designed to review the first six weeks only of course content and support student understanding; they are not Diploma Exam preparation sessions. EIPS will still offer Diploma Prep in January.
EIPS is looking for 10 teachers to instruct these sessions.
Each Midpoint Review session will be 3.5 hours in length focusing on one specific diploma-level course.
Sessions offered include Math 30-1 Math 30-2 Chemistry 30 Biology 30 Physics 30 Science 30 Social 30-1 Social 30-2 ELA 30-1 & ELA 30-2.
Sessions will be hosted at Salisbury Composite High School and Fort Saskatchewan High School. The teaching schedule will include:
This represents a total commitment of 1.5 days (delivering the same session three times). Each session will be compensated at the hourly rate for delivery preparation of materials and meeting time equivalent to 8 hours total for the first session and 4 hours for every subsequent session. Pay is as per the collective agreement at $63 per hour. Lunch will also be provided each day you are on-site.
These positions are conditional on sufficient student registrations. The successful candidate must have an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
