Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Location: Waterloo IA 50703
Duration: 2 Years
Shift: 1st Shift (Start time between 6:00 AM 7:30 AM)
Note: Overtime may include extended weekday hours or weekends. Candidates must be flexible to work off-shift hours if needed.

Position Overview

As a Schedule Planner I you will play a vital role in ensuring material availability production flow and schedule accuracy within a world-class heavy equipment manufacturing environment. This position directly supports on-time delivery goals efficient material movement and production stability - key pillars of the John Deere Production System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production & Material Scheduling:
    Plan and schedule manufacturing processes for current production and service parts with minimal complexity.
    Manage material flow Kanban triggers and delivery timing to achieve production goals.
    Develop and maintain efficient line sequencing of options to optimize throughput.
  • Coordination & Communication:
    Coordinate with production engineering and procurement teams to implement material and engineering changes.
    Expedite production and purchased parts as necessary to meet schedule commitments.
    Communicate effectively with internal departments to resolve supply chain bottlenecks.
  • Inventory & Data Management:
    Support inventory integrity and accuracy including production reporting scrap tracking and reconciliation.
    Use SAP-PP and legacy systems (CWIS) to manage schedules track material availability and ensure data accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement & Change Control:
    Apply knowledge of change control principles to adapt schedules and mitigate disruptions.
    Identify process inefficiencies and contribute to material flow optimization initiatives.
  • Administrative Support:
    Perform general administrative and data entry tasks to support departmental reporting and production tracking.
    Assist in manpower planning and daily operational coordination.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Management Operations or related field (required).

Experience:

  • Manufacturing or production planning experience preferred (open to trainable recent graduates).
  • Strong computer proficiency particularly in MS Excel and other MS Office tools.
  • Familiarity with SAP-PP (Production Planning) or equivalent ERP system is an advantage.
  • Must have a consistent employment history and excellent attention to detail.

Work Environment

  • Approximately 90% of time spent on the shop floor coordinating schedules and material flow.
  • Requires metatarsal protective footwear.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced dynamic production setting.

Interview & Onboarding

  • Interviews conducted onsite (business casual dress code).
  • Training includes potential certification to drive a John Deere Gator within facility grounds.
  • No visa sponsorship is available now or in the near future.
