The Role
The company is seeking an Account Manager Display & Programmatic based in Johannesburg to lead client relationships and play a central role in shaping the divisions growth from day one.
This person will manage agency and brand partnerships build creative and commercial proposals and drive adoption of new ad formats across the programmatic landscape. The ideal candidate understands the ecosystem the DSPs the trading desks the margins and the negotiations but also thrives on creative breakthroughs. This is not a maintenance role; it is an opportunity to help build something new.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow key relationships with agencies trading desks and brands.
- Translate client objectives into high-impact campaign ideas using innovative formats.
- Oversee campaign delivery ensuring flawless execution and measurable outcomes.
- Educate clients on the companys offering and the strategic advantage of interactive display.
- Collaborate with Product Creative and Operations teams to bring ideas to market.
- Negotiate commercial terms maintain sustainable margins and ensure profitability.
- Analyse campaign performance data and deliver actionable insights for future improvement.
- Contribute to defining positioning and go-to-market strategies for 2026 and beyond.
Experience and Requirements
- Minimum of three years experience in digital media ideally within programmatic or display advertising.
- Strong understanding of DSPs trading desks campaign optimisation and media economics.
- Established relationships with agencies and brands in South Africa.
- Proven ability to translate technical solutions into clear client value.
- Excellent presentation negotiation and communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness and a passion for innovation.
- Entrepreneurial mindset comfortable with ambiguity and motivated by building something new.
- A drive to challenge convention and redefine what display advertising can be.
