Job Summary

I. Summary of the position:

Substitute Teachers will partner with classroom teachers and Head of School

or School Principal to support learning in the classroom while a teacher is away

temporarily.

This position pays $150.00 per day.

II. Experience and Knowledge Required:

Experience working with children and/or students preferably in a learning environment prior teaching experience preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrates a thorough grasp and commitment to BRAVE Academy mission and vision.

Understands and follows all school policies.

Enjoys teaching subject matter and working with students.

Cooperative team player.

May be required to lift up to 15 lbs. on occasion.

III. Key Responsibilities:

Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.

Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.

Supervise students in and out of the classroom including in the halls on the playground and in meal areas.

Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the outline of the lesson plan and instructions from the regular Teacher.

For long-term Substitutes: Develop lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teachers past lesson plans in coordination with school leadership.
