Overview
The Human Resources Leave of Absence/Workers Compensation Specialist administers and coordinates employee leave and work-related injury programs ensuring compliance with federal and state laws like FMLA ADA and workers comp regulations. Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees managers and providers regarding leave and injury matters.
- Process and manage various leaves of absence including FMLA state disability and personal leaves.
- Administer and oversee workers compensation claims including processing claims coordinating with insurance carrier and managing claim status.
- Ensure all processes and documentation comply with federal state and local laws such as FMLA ADA and workers compensation regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all leave and claim-related information.
- Work with managers to facilitate return-to-work processes and explore potential accommodations.
- Prepare reports on leave and workers compensation data as needed.
- Support the benefit enrollment process by assisting employees with forms and answering general benefits questions.
- Assist with filing and managing employee records.
- All other HR duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years Human Resources experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Must have knowledge of California workmens compensation laws.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish/Vietnamese/Chinese) preferred.
