Strategic Procurement & Carrier Management
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for air freight at the area level including planning for core carriers.
- Lead negotiations for rates and contracts with both new and existing airlines to secure competitive pricing and preferential tariffs.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with carriers to ensure alignment and access to leading market rates.
- Conduct regular Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) with key airline partners to assess performance and enhance strategic collaboration.
Pricing Operations & System Management
- Manage the integration and upkeep of client rates and local charges within the pricing system.
- Ensure pricing readiness by maintaining an accurate up-to-date and competitive rate library to support timely quotations.
- Establish cost targets for each carrier and route ensuring optimal allocation and capacity utilisation.
Performance & Commercial Support
- Increase win ratios on Requests for Quotations (RFQs) by implementing strategic pricing and aligning with carriers.
- Monitor and manage core carrier adherence and Business Service Agreement (BSA) performance across the region.
- Collaborate with gateway teams and trade lane managers to identify opportunities for consolidation and cost efficiency.
- Support sales and commercial teams by participating in client visits quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and providing product insights and market intelligence to drive growth in new air freight business.
Leadership & Integration
- Lead and develop the pricing team in the area promoting a culture of high performance continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Act as a key stakeholder in integrating product operations and commercial functions by utilising in-depth pricing expertise.
- Create impactful product support materials including presentations market updates and sales collateral.
- Advocate for process efficiency system accuracy and standardisation across pricing operations in the region.
- Serve as the point of escalation for all core carrier issues throughout the Asia Pacific region.
