Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and mentor veterinary technicians assistants and support staff.
- Coordinate daily staff assignments and ensure optimal workflow in the hospital.
- Provide training and guidance on clinical procedures safety and best practices.
Patient Care
- Perform advanced technical duties including anesthesia induction surgical assistance radiology laboratory work and dental procedures.
- Monitor and document patient progress communicating effectively with veterinarians and clients.
- Maintain high standards for patient care cleanliness and infection control.
Client Communication
- Educate clients on post-surgical care medication administration and preventive health.
- Address client questions and concerns professionally and empathetically.
Operations & Inventory
- Manage ordering stocking and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment.
- Assist in creating and updating hospital protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support compliance with regulatory standards (OSHA DEA AAHA etc.).

Qualifications

Education: Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) required.
Experience: Minimum 35 years of veterinary technician experience with at least 12 years in a leadership or senior technician role.
Skills:
- Proficient in anesthesia surgical assistance and emergency procedures.
- Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to train and motivate team members effectively.

Work Environment

Full-time position; may include weekends or holidays as needed.
Fast-paced small-animal hospital or mixed-practice environment.
