This recruitment is the result of a position study. This is a promotional opportunity open for current permanent employees with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE).
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
Principles practices and techniques of centralized records management and records center operations
Methods for establishing production standards and monitoring performance
Principles practices and techniques of warehouse operations
General office practices procedures and equipment including clerical recordkeeping filing and distribution systems and techniques
Principles of database management
Applicable California Code Education Code laws rules and regulations
Proper lifting techniques
Fundamental concepts of employment laws codes and regulations including EEO FLSA FMLA and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements
Competencies:
Analyzing & Interpreting Data Drawing meaning and conclusions from quantitative and/or qualitative data
Critical Thinking Analytically and logically evaluating information propositions and claims
Decision Making Choosing optimal courses of action in a timely manner
Legal & Regulatory Navigation Understanding interpreting and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
Professional & Technical Expertise Applying technical subject matter to the job
Safety Focus Showing vigilance and care in identifying and addressing health risks and safety hazards
Using Technology Working with electronic hardware and software applications
Action & Results Focus Initiating tasks and focusing on accomplishment
Adaptability Responding positively to change and modifying behavior as the situation requires
Oral Communication Engaging effectively in dialogue
Customer Focus Attending to the needs and expectation of customers
Relationship Building Establishing rapport and maintaining mutually productive relationships
Project Management Planning and tracking projects to ensure they are on-time on-budget and achieve their objectives
Cultural Proficiency Model communication and interaction that respects and includes all individuals and their languages abilities religions and cultures
Required Education and ExperienceEducation:Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Experience:Four years of experience in records management and warehousing operations including at least two years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Equivalency Provision:Associates degree or equivalent units (60 semester or 90 quarter) in computer science information technology or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation may substitute for one year of the general experience. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Additional Requirements:A valid California drivers license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites may be required.
Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a structured interview.
