DescriptionBoston Speech Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for our high school program with a pay range of $60 to $70 per hour based on experience. This position involves working closely with students who have a variety of special needs helping them achieve their academic goals in a supportive classroom environment.
Your main responsibilities will include creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) providing tailored instructional strategies and collaborating with other educators and staff to promote inclusive education.
*Key Responsibilities:*
- implement personalized lesson plans in accordance with IEP goals
- Monitor and assess student progress adapting instruction as needed
- Support students in developing both academic skills and social-emotional competencies
- Work collaboratively with general educators to foster an inclusive learning environment
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about students progress
Requirements*Qualifications:*
- masters degree in Special Education or related field;
- Valid state certification in Special Education
- Experience teaching high school students with special needs
- Strong knowledge of behavioral and instructional strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive educational atmosphere
Benefits- 1099 position
- about 35 hours per week
- Flexible hours
