About the role:

To provide clinical services to patients designated under the clinicians direct care to outpatients and to patients in the specialty.


Provision of clinical services to inpatients designated as under your direct care to outpatients and to patients you are asked to consult in Clinical Immunology with scope including Autoimmunity Immunodeficiency Allergy and HIV;
Provision of professional leadership training education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members within the department and to be an active contributor to the multidisciplinary patient care team;
Participation in patient safety audit research and service planning activities;
Promotion of good patient care and the good reputation of the department and the hospital;
Participation in the Immunology and HIV on-call rosters for the HIV and Immunology Department.

Selection Criteria:

  • Possess specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists State Award having completed Advanced Training in Clinical Immunology.

  • Have sufficient experience and recency of practice such as to allow immediate unsupervised practice.

  • Have high level expertise in all aspects of all areas of Clinical Immunology including autoimmunity allergy primary immunodeficiency and HIV.

  • Demonstrated knowledge skills and high standards of clinical practice in Clinical Immunology and Allergy commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position;

  • Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development dissemination and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge experience and commitment to the implementation of best practice and clinical service innovation;

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary environment with excellent interpersonal and communications skills;

  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching at specialty registrar junior medical officer and undergraduate levels;

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries
